Intel announces release date for 4-core Xeon Penryn
Intel has announced the release date of the first processors on the core Penryn. They will be server processors of the Xeon family, and the time of the official announcement is scheduled for November 11 this year. 45nm CPU Harpertown, belonging to the family
Penryn, will be represented by the following models:
Penryn Quad-Core Xeon DP
where “E” stands for standard version and “X” stands for
productive. As you can see in the table above, processors with
the “E” index is 80-W TDP, and the “X” version has a higher thermal package value – 120 W. According to the source,
Intel will not yet unveil energy-efficient processors with an index
“L”. This will happen sometime in the first quarter of 2021. Then,
two L-Xeon processors are expected to be released.
