DirectX 10 in Intel Products – in 2021

DigiTimes announces that the chipset with the integrated graphics core Intel G35, whose release is planned by the manufacturer in the third quarter of this year, will acquire DirectX 10 support only next year.

Initially, it was planned that support for the latest API in drivers would be implemented already at the time of the product launch, but now plans have changed, and even the alpha version of such drivers is planned only for the fourth quarter of 2021, and the final one – for the first quarter of 2021.

The above fully applies to the mobile integrated chipsets GM965 Express and GL960 (scheduled for release in the next quarter).

In general, motherboard manufacturers believe that in connection with Intel’s planned entry into the discrete graphics market, more attention will be paid to the development of drivers for integrated video accelerators. Otherwise, high competitiveness with NVIDIA and AMD Intel will not be achieved.
