NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS – Four Quadro FX 5600 and 6GB memory in one chassis

Showcased at SIGGRAPH 2021 is the NVIDIA Quadro Plex Visual Computing System (VCS) Model S4, which NVIDIA itself categorizes as a graphics server – according to NVIDIA, a record number of graphics processing units (GPUs) are housed in a single 1U chassis.

The server is designed for tasks related to intensive data processing and imaging. It contains four NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 processors; the allocation of the resources they provide is performed dynamically, depending on the needs of applications – this task is solved using the control tools implemented by means of NVIDIA CUDA software.

Quadro Plex Model S4 graphics server capable of high quality interactive rendering of large models for multiple users. Its configuration includes a 6 GB frame buffer (1.5 GB for each GPU), which opens up the possibility of processing large textures with full screen filtering. Realistic rendering with OpenGL and DirectX 10 provides support for Shader Model 4.0.

The range of the company includes several Quadro Plex models. The VCS Model II server (four Quadro FX 4500 processors, 512 MB of memory each) is primarily designed to connect a large number of monitors – up to eight pieces. Quadro Plex Model III features two Quadro FX 5500s (1GB memory per processor) and dual HD SDI and DVI outputs. Quadro Plex Model IV desktop model features four Quadro FX 5600 processors (1.5GB each) and four DVI outputs. Finally, the Quadro Plex Model S4 is suitable for large scale systems and is designed for installation in a 1U chassis. It is equipped with monitoring and error reporting tools, which simplifies its integration into the structure of the CC.

The company promises to begin deliveries of the Quadro Plex VCS Model S4 in the fourth quarter of 2021.
