MRV Introduces New Model of Carrier Ethernet / IP / MPLS Smart Switches Converging with Traditional E1 Voice and Data Services.

OSM910-M devices emulate synchronous E1 links by encapsulating TDM data and transmitting it as packet streams. These streams are tagged with VLAN or MPLS tags and given real-time priority to ensure minimum latency, jitter and packet loss. This “pseudowire” technology provides transmission of both the entire E1 stream and a set of its individual time slots.

The OS910-M switches are compact (1U) with 6 copper 10/100 / 1000BaseT ports, 2 combo Gigabit ports (RJ-45 / SFP), and 2 ports for 100 or 1000 Mbps SFP. In addition, they have two slots for installing CES (Circuit Emulation Services) modules with E1 interfaces with a total number of ports up to 8.

Modules are available with one and four E1 ports, they support emulation of E1 channels in packet Ethernet / MPLS networks while maintaining full TDM, signaling and synchronization functionality. Structured and unstructured streams are supported according to G.703 and G.704, synchronization fully complies with G recommendation jitter requirements.823 and G.824. CES modules provide differential and adaptive clocking, as well as internal and external clock sources.
OSM910-M supports a variety of TDM pseudowire standards including PWE3, CESoPSN / SAToP and MEF8 CESoEth, making the system flexible and interoperable with third-party CES solutions.

Modular design provides flexibility to use OS910-M devices in a variety of applications, including operation with 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps connections on any Ethernet ports that support redundancy with a switching time of less than 50 ms. OS910-M devices are designed to work in operator applications, their MTBF is at least 240,000 hours, in addition, it is possible to use a backup power supply in 1 + 1 mode.

The OS910-M hardware and software platform is based on the latest MRV developments in the OS9000 series of switches, providing advanced system upgrades and new features and applications. OS910-M devices run a modular Linux-based operating system that provides a wide range of features and capabilities to provide network services.

OS910-M devices are certified to meet the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) MEF9 requirements for providing EPL, E-Line, E-LAN, and MEF14 traffic management services. OS910-M works with three types of VPNs, including optical Layer 1 VPNs (transparent mode without MAC address table), Layer 2 VPNs (based on Q-in-Q VLANs), and Layer 2.5 VPNs for direct connections to domains MPLS or MTU H-VPLS. In addition to Layer 2 VPN services, OS910-M appliances provide IP routing functionality, providing a single platform for managing Layer 2 VPN and IP services.

OS910-M switches support all CoS and QoS management functions according to MEF guidelines, including stream classification, rate limiting, bandwidth management for real-time performance of latency-sensitive applications.
