Gyration ULTRA R4000 – remote control for PC and household appliances with its own LCD display and Motion-Sensing function
The Remote Control (RC) is arguably one of the most significant improvements in consumer electronics to improve usability. Only a remote control with its own LCD screen can be more convenient than a conventional remote control – apparently, this is what Gyration has judged, which recently presented the ULTRA R4000 universal remote control.
The presence of a built-in screen expands the capabilities of the remote control – for example, by controlling a computer playing the role of a multimedia player, you can view a list of recordings and select the desired one without turning on the monitor or TV. The built-in screen is backlit, which makes the information displayed on it easy to read even in the dark.
The Gyration ULTRA R4000 remote control is universal, that is, it alone is capable of replacing remotes for a TV, player, receiver, PC and other devices. When used with an HTPC or a regular PC, the remote even replaces a mouse. The patented Motion-Sensing technology allows you to move the cursor around the screen, manipulating the remote control in space (recall, this is how the recently announced Logitech MX Air mouse works). In other words, the ULTRA R4000 remote control allows you to control your PC using a very natural way – gestures. This provides all the navigation, selection, and input capabilities in Windows Media Center. The ULTRA R4000 uses a radio frequency channel to communicate with a PC, and an infrared channel to control household appliances.
The company promises to start selling the Gyration ULTRA R4000 Motion-Sensing Remote this fall 2021. The remote will be available both separately and as a bundle with a wireless keyboard. No pricing information yet.
