Kingston Technology launches 4GB miniSDHC cards in three speed classes at once
Kingston Technology Announces Expansion of its Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Card Family with 4GB MiniSDHC Products in Three Speed Classes – Class 2, 4, and 6. The company calls the main consumers of these products the owners of multimedia cell phones and other portable electronic devices.
The company estimates that one 4GB miniSDHC card is enough to store more than 2,000 photos, 750 songs or 4.5 hours of MPEG4 video.
Each speed class reflects the guaranteed steady-state data rate expressed in Mb / s. In other words, the Class 2 SDHC card is capable of transferring data at 2 Mb / s, Class 4 SDHC at 4 Mb / s, and Class 6 SDHC at 6 Mb / s. As a reminder, miniSDHC cards are only compatible with devices that support them and are not compatible with devices designed for miniSD cards.
